Steve Kallas

Born and raised in upper Manhattan. Steve Kallas attended elementary school at P.S. 98 in the Inwood section. He played baseball,basketball and was even on the bowling team at Power Memorial Academy, whereformer Knick assistant Brendan Malone was one of his coaches. In his senioryear at Power, Steve was awarded the John P. Donohue Medal for excellence inathletics.
Steve also played baseball, basketball and was even on the bowlingteam at New York University, where Mike Muzio of the Police Athletic Leaguewas one of his coaches. Steve later graduated from the Fordham UniversitySchool of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review.
In the late 1980s through the early '90s, Steve campaigned his ownharness racing stable. He trained and drove winners at various racetracksin the east, including the Meadowlands, Yonkers, Freehold and Monticello.
In 1996, Steve started making occasional contributions to PhilMushnick's nationally-recognized "Equal Time" column in the New York Post.In May 2000, Steve started writing his own sports column entitled "KallasRemarks" for the New York Post Sports Week. During the Sports Week'sone-year run, Steve also wrote three feature articles. Steve startedwriting a column for MSGNetwork.com in July 2001.
Steve presently resides in Westchester with his wifeEdith, a partner at the New York City law firm of Milberg Weiss BershadHynes & Lerach LLP, and their two children.
